Personal Reflection: What Age is Considered Old?

I was thinking...age is subjective and means different things to different people. But what age is considered old? At what age do you consider someone a "senior"? The term "senior citizen" usually refers to someone who maybe retired and above the age of 60 or 65. There are several terms used to described an aged person...old, geriatric, senior, elderly.

So I wonder, when does a middle-aged person transition into old age? Today people are living much longer than they used to and we don't want to assume that someone is old just because of their appearance, or that their health is a direct result of advanced age. Defining someone's age by their physical appearance, i.e. gray hair and wrinkles, can mean ageism (a prejudice or discrimination on the grounds of a person's age).
