Free Webinar: Falling: Screening Clients for Fall Risk

Dear Healthcare Professionals, Families, Caregivers and Community:

We are proud to offer a monthly virtual webinar skills training called: Staying Connected. You’ll get a chance to build your skills while connecting with fellow caregivers from across the country!

On Wednesday, April 28 from 4:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. EST Tiffany Shubert, PhD/PT/fall expert, will be presenting to you: Falls: screening clients for fall risk.

The data indicates that falls are not an inevitable part of aging. However, many older adults think falls are normal. They often can’t tell you why they fell, and often blame themselves - “I was clumsy or not paying attention.” While those things might be true, there is always a reason why the person fell, and usually something that can be done to prevent a fall in the future. This is something that older adults and their families are unaware of. As a caregiver, you can help play a role in helping with the first step in reducing falls, which involves screening.

We have three main objectives in this two-part program. By the end of the presentation, you will be able to…

  • Describe what risk factors leads to falls in older adults

  • Understand the importance of screening for falls in the home

  • Become familiar with the process of completing the screening tool with specific clients upon office request
