A Few Words About Lauren Zeefe

I’m a Sagittarius, animal lover, people person, deeply care about the environment, clean oceans, peace, chocolate, good food, friends, senior care and I love humor. In addition, I am a licensed professional counselor, certified grief counselor, patient advocate, community liaison, certified dementia practitioner, and small group specialist. I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Miami in 1999 (no more snow for me)!
My background and professional experience have always been associated with elder care. I worked in hospice as a clinician and director and in private duty non-medical home health as an administrator and for the past 9 years as a community liaison/patient advocate/certified dementia practitioner for Comforcare Home Care a non-medical private duty home care agency located in Miami-Dade. As a child I was always drawn to my friends parents and grandparents. I enjoyed their stories and learned so much from them. So it is no accident that I am working with elders and senior care, a field I enjoy so much and get such satisfaction helping families to keep loved ones safe and independent at home. Aging in place with private duty care is a wonderful option, especially now during the Covid-19 virus. So, enough about me. Please enjoy my new blog and follow the journey with me about aging and care for seniors in South Florida. I promise you it won’t be boring!
WHAT MAKES SOUTH FLORIDA UNIQUE?
Miami is the best blend of cultures, people, music, food, weather, languages, diversity, customs, stories, the ocean, South Beach, Miami Beach, palm trees and oh the café con leche. The café con leche! I have met with so many families and professionals over the years and each family is so fascinating with a story to tell. I will be sharing some of the family meetings I have had in future blog posts. In addition to families I have had the awesome opportunity to work with professionals, social workers, care managers, case managers, nurses, discharge planners, hospice personnel, doctors, etc. I will also share some of those stories in future blog posts.
WHAT MAKES COMFORCARE UNIQUE?
Team work makes the dream work. I work with the most compassionate, experienced and caring group of people. I can’t imagine working anywhere else and this is the best job I have ever had…9+ years going strong. As a team we are given the freedom to go over and above in helping families and loved ones needing care, and meeting the needs of professionals requesting our service. There are no loose ends. Together we have a wide range of experience and expert knowledge in elder care.
